There is currently uncertainty surrounding the ongoing talks between Bayern Munich and Newcastle United regarding a potential permanent move for Kieran Trippier to the German champions. While various sources indicate that Trippier is interested in the move to Bayern, Sky Sports reports that Newcastle has no intention of parting ways with their first-choice right back, either on a permanent basis or through a loan.

Pete Gracesw of Sky Sports tweeted about Bayern Munich’s approach:

“Bayern Munich has made an approach to Newcastle United for Kieran Trippier. We understand that Trippier is not for sale, and Newcastle has absolutely no interest in losing their first-choice right back either permanently or on loan.”

Bayern Munich seems to be seeking a permanent transfer for the English right-back this month, and the situation will likely unfold to see if Newcastle maintains its initial rejection of the request.

Despite Trippier’s importance to the team, Newcastle reportedly has potential replacements in 21-year-old Tino Lavramento and Swedish international Emil Krafth. There’s also speculation about Newcastle’s interest in including Joshua Kimmich in the deal.

The report suggests that if Newcastle receives an offer above £5 million for Trippier, they might consider the deal and explore options like bringing Kimmich in on loan or securing a purchase option for him in the summer. Trippier has 18 months remaining on his contract, and his transfer fee is expected to decrease in the upcoming summer and next January.

Newcastle might try to negotiate for a higher fee from Bayern or explore the possibility of involving Kimmich in the deal. The poll assumes that if a deal can be struck this month, involving Trippier and Kimmich for at least £5 million, Newcastle might consider it, even if it involves bringing in Kimmich on a loan initially, with an obligation to buy in the summer, potentially aiding with PSR (Profit and Sustainability Regulations).
