Breaking News: Texas Lands Another superstar Commitment
Texas Lands Commitment From 2025 4-Star ATH Lance Jackson
In the midst of a busy offseason marked by numerous commitments and roster additions, the Texas Longhorns have once again strengthened their future prospects with the latest addition to the 2025 recruiting class. On Sunday, Texas secured a commitment from Lance Jackson, a versatile athlete from Pleasant Grove (Texarkana, TX) who plays both tight end and defensive end. Standing at 6-5 and weighing 245 pounds, Jackson, who announced his decision on X (formerly Twitter), chose the Longhorns over prominent programs like Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.
Expressing his confidence in Texas, Jackson stated, “I just know they will get me to my full potential. I love the way coach PK and coach Sark coach. Also, I think PK is just a good dude.” He further explained that his familiarity with Coach PK, Pete Kwiatkowski, from his brother’s recruitment days at Washington played a significant role in his decision. Jackson also praised the city of Austin, affirming that it is where he envisions himself.
Highlighting Jackson’s accomplishments as a freshman in 2022, he recorded impressive statistics with 63 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, and two pass breakups. Reflecting on the skepticism surrounding Ja’Tavion Sanders’ transition to tight end, Jackson, similarly adept in both positions, embraces his versatility. While Coach Kwiatkowski’s influence in recruiting suggests Jackson may lean towards the defensive side, Head Coach Steve Sarkisian now has a valuable and dynamic talent with options for deployment.
