Breaking News: LSU Football star arrested ‘for placing 9,000 illegal underage sports bets
Former LSU Wide Receiver Bet on Himself Against FSU Football and Lost
Akeem Dent and Renardo Green had a significant impact on disrupting the plans of Kayshon Boutte, who is now facing legal trouble for his involvement in illegal online gambling. The former LSU Football star wide receiver has been charged with placing over 8,900 bets, some of which were on LSU games while he was still a part of the team. Notably, he bet on himself in a game against Florida State in 2022, part of an 8-leg parlay where he wagered that he would score a touchdown and accumulate more than 82.5 receiving yards.
Kayshon Boutte bet he would score a touchdown and rack up 82.5 yards against Florida State on Sept. 4, 2022. Part of an eight-leg parlay.

Despite his expectations, Boutte’s performance in that game fell short, finishing with just 2 catches for 20 yards and no touchdowns. Akeem Dent and Renardo Green from Florida State played a key role in limiting Boutte’s impact, with the ‘Noles ultimately blocking an extra point to secure the win. This marked the beginning of a disappointing season for Boutte, who, after two strong campaigns, saw a significant drop in production, ending the year with only 538 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
The Florida State game set the tone for Boutte’s struggles, and he went from being a potential top-5 pick to being selected in the 6th round of the 2023 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. His rookie season in the NFL was unimpressive, with just two receptions for 19 yards on seven targets.
According to the arrest warrant, Boutte placed a substantial amount, $132,147.53, into his online betting profile during the 2022 and 2023 seasons, and he withdrew $50,282.36. While he had won more than that, a significant portion of his winnings went back into the account for further betting, leading to legal consequences for the talented but troubled wide receiver.
