As the Pro Bowl approaches, substitutions are gradually being announced for the upcoming games, set to take place in about a week. Stefon Diggs, the wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills, is the latest addition to the growing list of replacement players selected for the Pro Bowl roster. According to information from NFL insider Ari Meirov, Diggs is set to fill the spot originally designated for Cleveland Browns star Amari Cooper. In Orlando, Diggs will join his teammates Dion Dawkins and James Cook for the Pro Bowl. Notably, Diggs has secured Pro Bowl honors in all four seasons with the Bills, placing him in esteemed company, with only team legend Andre Reed having more Pro Bowl invitations from the receiver position.

Stefon Diggs: Replacing Amari Cooper

In the 2023 season, Amari Cooper, the wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns, delivered a stellar performance. Formerly with the Oakland Raiders and later the Dallas Cowboys, Cooper transitioned to the Cleveland Browns and participated in 15 games. During this period, he made an impressive 72 receptions, accumulating 1,250 yards and scoring five touchdowns. Despite his standout performance, Cooper will not be participating in the upcoming Pro Bowl, creating an opportunity for Buffalo Bills receiver Stefon Diggs to step in as his replacement.

Cooper concluded the year on a high note, showcasing a strong performance, particularly with his outstanding 11-catch, 265-yard effort against the Houston Texans on Christmas Eve, where he scored twice. In the week preceding that, he recorded 109 yards and added another touchdown. Despite his team’s Super Wild Card Weekend loss to the Houston Texans, the five-time Pro Bowler managed to make an impact with four catches for 59 yards. Quietly amassing a remarkable resume, Cooper has consistently surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in every season except for two.

Buffalo Bills Stefon Diggs: Tough Finish to Forgettable Season

The Buffalo Bills are grappling with the aftermath of a tough 27-24 loss at home to the Kansas City Chiefs last weekend. Stefon Diggs endured a challenging game, managing to catch only three of eight targets for 21 yards. Notably, one of Diggs’ targets, a 60-yard pass from quarterback Josh Allen, slipped through the receiver’s hands. This missed opportunity occurred during a critical moment when the Bills were attempting a game-tying field goal, but kicker Tyler Bass ultimately missed the 44-yard attempt.

Diggs concluded the season without surpassing 100 receiving yards in any of his last 13 games. Additionally, he failed to score a touchdown in the months of December and January. The last time Diggs led the team in receiving yards was in mid-December during a victory over the Dallas Cowboys. Looking ahead, Diggs is set to earn $18.5 million in base salary for the next season. He is scheduled to become a free agent in 2028, entering his age 35 season.
