JUST IN: Horrifyingly racist remarks shared to Colorado football recruit revealed
BuffsBeat’s Josh Tolle exposed disturbingly racist comments directed at a Colorado football recruit by a head coach engaged in negative recruiting against Deion Sanders. The recruit, who had initially committed to Colorado, revealed that upon informing a coach of his decision to join Sanders and the Buffs, he was asked if they served him ‘Colonel Sanders’ best chicken and watermelon’ during his visit.
UTEP-to-CU transfer Justin Mayers also shared the appalling experiences he encountered, describing the use of stereotypical terms like ‘Kool Aid,’ ‘being a rapper,’ and references to ‘that gang’ in a derogatory manner. Mayers expressed concern about the negative connotations that cast a detrimental light on the college football environment.

Nikhil Webb Walker, as highlighted by Tolle, had a similar encounter with an Oregon State coach who actively influenced his transfer to Boulder due to negative recruiting tactics aimed at undermining Coach Prime, Deion Sanders.
Jordan Seaton was accused of wanting a rap career after choosing Colorado football
Coach Prime, Deion Sanders, faced a surge in racist negative recruiting during the recent offseason, as evidenced by the case of 5-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton. Opposing coaches accused Seaton of harboring aspirations for a rap career.
Seaton recounted the most notable incident, stating, “This was the most famous one I got. It was like, ‘What do you want to be a rapper or something?’ I’m like…Hey… *Laughing*… I get what you’re saying, but… bro… There was a lot of negative recruiting (at Coach Prime).” Seaton acknowledged the turnaround in the program under Sanders, from 1-11 to 4-8 within a year, emphasizing the positive changes.
The manner in which some individuals spoke about Coach Prime reveals more about their own perspectives than any perceived grievances Sanders may have caused them in the past.
