BREAKING NEWS: Broncos Confirmed The Signing Of Another Top Stars
The Denver Broncos have formally announced the addition of Pete Carmichael and Jim Leonhard to their coaching staff. Carmichael will serve as a Senior Offensive Assistant, while Leonhard takes on the role of Defensive Pass Game Coordinator/Defensive Backs coach.
Previously speculated, Carmichael, the former longtime Saints coach who worked as Sean Payton’s offensive coordinator for 12 seasons, has now confirmed his move to the Broncos. Having been with the Saints since 2006, initially as a quarterback coach and later as offensive coordinator until 2023, Carmichael joins the Broncos after parting ways with the Saints. Under his guidance last season, the Saints achieved respectable rankings across various offensive metrics.

As for Leonhard, recent reports of his hiring to the Broncos’ defensive coaching staff have now been validated. With experience as a player from 2005 to 2014 across several NFL teams, Leonhard transitioned into coaching at Wisconsin, where he served until recently. With his debut in the NFL, Leonhard fills the vacancy left by Christian Parker, who departed for the Philadelphia Eagles. Parker’s departure was significant as he was highly regarded for his coaching prowess, especially in developing the Broncos’ secondary players.
With Carmichael and Leonhard onboard, the only remaining coaching move for the Broncos is to find a replacement for former defensive line coach Marcus Dixon, who recently joined the Minnesota Vikings’ coaching staff. Expect an announcement regarding his replacement in the coming days or weeks.
