BREAKING NEWS: LSU Key Player Arrested on Felony Attempted Murder Charge
A Louisiana State University freshman football player, Trey Holly, surrendered himself to the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office on Thursday following allegations of involvement in an apartment complex shooting on February 9. According to reports from the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office, Holly, aged 19, faced three felony charges related to the incident. These charges included attempted second-degree murder, illegal use of weapons on a public roadway, and aggravated criminal damage to property. His bail was set at $512,000. Holly was one of three individuals arrested in connection with the shooting, alongside Jordan Ramond Jones, aged 18, and a 16-year-old juvenile.
The shooting, which resulted in two injured victims, took place within the city limits of Farmerville, La. The victims were discovered with gunshot wounds, but are expected to recover, according to Sheriff Dusty Gates. The Union Parish Sheriff’s Office initiated an investigation into the incident, revealing that the shooting followed previous altercations at the apartment complex.
As a consequence of his arrest, Trey Holly has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities by LSU. The university issued a statement confirming the suspension and stating their compliance with departmental policies. Holly, who recently completed the 2023-2024 season with one touchdown and 110 rushing yards, had joined LSU after graduating from Union Parish High School, where he held the state’s all-time rushing record with 10,523 yards.
