The Milwaukee Bucks want to bring the NBA All-Star Weekend back to the Cream City for the first time in five decades, and they have finally taken the first step in doing so.

According to recent reports, the Bucks are aiming to host the NBA All-Star Weekend in 2027 or 2028.

Milwaukee Bucks’ NBA All-Star Weekend Bid

Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report revealed on Saturday that the Milwaukee Bucks are actively pursuing the opportunity to host the All-Star weekend at Fiserv Forum in either 2027 or 2028.

As for the upcoming seasons, the All-Star festivities are scheduled to take place in Indiana for the 2023-24 season, followed by San Francisco for the 2024-25 season with the Golden State Warriors as hosts. The Los Angeles Clippers are set to host the event for the 2025-26 season coinciding with the opening of their new arena.

This leaves the 2027-28 and 2028-29 seasons open for potential hosting opportunities, and the Bucks are eager to secure the rights for either of those years.

It’s worth noting that the Bucks last hosted the All-Star Weekend in 1977, as reported by BR. If they were to be granted hosting rights for 2027 or 2028, it would mark a significant 50-year gap since the event was last held in the city.

Milwaukee Bucks Deserve NBA All-Star Hosting Rights

The Milwaukee Bucks have emerged as a dominant force in the NBA, earning widespread recognition and respect in the league. With stars like Giannis Antetokounmpo anchoring the team for the foreseeable future, their position among the league’s elite is likely secure. Therefore, it seems fitting for them to be considered as hosts for the prestigious All-Star Weekend.

Moreover, Wisconsin as a whole hasn’t had the opportunity to host a major professional sports All-Star Game since 2002, adding to the excitement and anticipation surrounding the potential selection of the Bucks as hosts. If the NBA were to award them the bid, it would undoubtedly generate significant enthusiasm among fans and the local community.

The prospect of the Green Bay Packers hosting the NFL Draft in 2025 further contributes to the anticipation surrounding major sporting events in Wisconsin. This convergence of high-profile events could make the upcoming years an especially thrilling time for the state and its residents.
