BREAKING NEWS: Montreal Canadiens Confirms The Departure Of Another Star
Following a lackluster performance against the Rangers on Thursday, the Canadiens had an opportunity to make a comeback tonight against the Capitals. Notably, Montreal had previously triumphed over the same Capitals just a few days ago. The game kicked off with Anthony Mantha scoring the opening goal, followed shortly after by Arber Xhekaj. Darcy Kuemper was unable to stop a 102.2 mph shot. However, before the period ended, T.J. Oshie reclaimed the lead for the Capitals.

Sonny Milano scored upon his return to the game, with Max Pacioretty and Joel Edmundson assisting. However, it wouldn’t be a Canadiens game without Nick Suzuki and Juraj Slafkovsky making their mark on the scoresheet.
Another rough start for Allen. Can't freeze the puck, which leads to an easy goal for Mantha.

Suzuki netted his 20th goal of the season on a power play, assisted by Slafkovsky, extending his point streak to 10 games, and Slafkovsky’s to eight, setting a new team record for a player aged 19 and under.
Consistent with the game’s pattern, the Capitals once again seized the lead after the Canadiens had started to lose hope. This time, Aliaksei Protas’s goal ensured that the Habs were unable to level the score again.
The final score was 4-3 in favor of the Capitals, marking a disappointing night for Montreal’s Tankathon fans. With this loss, Buffalo surpassed the Canadiens in the overall standings. Montreal’s next game will be against the Sabres on Wednesday.
