BREAKING NEWS: Essendon Bombers Announced The Signing Another Top Player
Essendon has extended forward Kyle Langford’s contract by another year, making him the eighth player to commit to the club until at least the end of the 2027 season. Langford, who already had a three-year deal in place, has now added a one-year extension, joining Nic Martin, Zach Merrett, Xavier Duursma, Ben McKay, Peter Wright, Mason Redman, and Darcy Parish in securing long-term deals.
Expressing his happiness about staying with the team, Langford emphasized his alignment with coach Brad Scott’s vision for the club. He stated, “I’ve enjoyed my nine seasons with the Bombers and am thrilled to extend my contract until 2027.
I share the vision that Brad and the coaches have for the team and believe in the potential of this group. We’re all dedicated to working together and pushing each other towards success. I look forward to the next four years with Essendon and seeing how far this group can go.”
Coming off a stellar season where he kicked 51 goals in 23 games and earned an All-Australian squad selection, Langford’s performance alongside fellow tall forward Wright promises excitement for Bombers supporters. Essendon’s football boss, Dan McPherson, expressed his delight with Wright’s decision to extend his contract, highlighting Langford’s importance to the team’s culture and standards.
Langford, who has played 130 games for the Bombers, has been versatile, contributing in both the forward line and the backline. Essendon is gearing up for matches against St Kilda and Geelong before their Round 1 showdown with Hawthorn at the MCG on March 16th.
