The NBA regular season action resumes this week following the conclusion of the All-Star break in Indianapolis. For the Oklahoma City Thunder, they are left with 28 games before the postseason begins.

So far, the Thunder have had an impressive season, boasting a 37-17 record. Maintaining their position in the top three of the NBA standings will require a strong finish, but Oklahoma City seems well-prepared for the challenge.

One advantage for the Thunder in the remaining 28 games is their favorable schedule strength, ranked as the seventh easiest. Facing teams with a combined .485 win percentage should work in their favor if they can capitalize on it.

Their opponents include teams like the San Antonio Spurs, Memphis Grizzlies, Washington Wizards, Charlotte Hornets, Portland Trail Blazers, and Toronto Raptors, all of whom have won 20 games or less this season, making Oklahoma City the clear favorite.

However, they also have tougher matchups against the Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns, Boston Celtics, LA Clippers, New York Knicks, and New Orleans Pelicans, all top contenders in their respective conferences.

Looking at the bigger picture, Oklahoma City has an even split of 14 home games and 14 road games left. They have a couple of challenging road trips ahead but also some extended homestands, offering a balanced schedule.

Their first test in this final stretch is against the LA Clippers, a formidable opponent. This game will likely showcase the Thunder’s revamped roster, including recent acquisitions Gordon Hayward and Bismack Biyombo.

Hayward and Biyombo bring experience and versatility to the team. While Hayward is expected to play a significant role in the rotation, Biyombo may see more limited minutes depending on the matchups.

With a favorable schedule, a balanced mix of home and away games, and strengthened roster depth, the Thunder have the potential to finish the season strongly and contend for a high seed in the Western Conference, possibly reaching the 55-win mark.
