On Friday, March 1st, Vilardi did not participate in skating activities in Texas. He was considered a potential player for the game against Carolina, but without a morning skate for the 11:30 am CST start time, Vilardi was ultimately absent from the lineup.
Subsequently, it was disclosed that Vilardi had returned to Winnipeg for further evaluation of his injury, which is described only as an upper-body ailment at this point.
Vilardi was part of the trade that brought him, along with Alex Iafallo and Rasmus Kupari, from Los Angeles to Winnipeg in exchange for Pierre-Luc Dubois. Since joining the Jets, Vilardi has amassed 30 points, including 16 goals and 14 assists, in 38 games.
The Jets are anxiously awaiting updates on Vilardi’s condition, hoping for a favorable outcome. This injury comes after Vilardi missed 18 games earlier in the season due to an MCL sprain sustained during a collision with his former teammate Blake Lizotte in October.
