Getting to Know: Jonathan Quick | New York Rangers

Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports that Quick will receive a slight pay increase from his current $825K salary, now earning $1.275M for the 2024-25 NHL season.

Having spent 15 and a half seasons with the Los Angeles Kings, Quick established himself as one of the premier United States-born goaltenders in league history. Alongside winning Stanley Cup championships in 2012 and 2014, Quick secured two William M. Jennings Trophies, achieved three top-five finishes in Vezina Trophy voting, and earned a Conn Smythe Trophy.

Concluding his 10-year, $58M contract extension with the Kings signed in 2012, Quick found himself traded amidst a challenging season to the Columbus Blue Jackets, and subsequently to the Vegas Golden Knights. Despite limited play with the latter, Quick still had his name engraved on the Stanley Cup for the third time when the Golden Knights won the championship in 2023.

Becoming an unrestricted free agent for the first time, Quick promptly signed with the Rangers. Despite low expectations after a subpar season, Quick has performed remarkably well in New York, serving as a backup to Igor Shesterkin. With outstanding statistics in 21 games played, Quick has earned himself this contract extension with the Rangers, securing his spot as one of the team’s top goaltenders.
