Calgary Flames forward Martin Pospisil is set for a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Wednesday following an incident during Monday night’s game against the Seattle Kraken.

Pospisil faces potential discipline for his hit on Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn, according to NHL Player Safety’s announcement on X, formerly Twitter, made on Tuesday.

Kraken, defenceman Vince Dunn avoid arbitration, agree to four-year, $29.4M deal

The hit in question occurred when Pospisil collided with Dunn from behind, resulting in a major penalty for checking from behind and a game misconduct at 13:41 of the third period.

The NHL indicated that the primary focus for potential supplemental discipline is boarding, but adjustments to the infraction may be made upon further review, as stated on the league’s website.

This wasn’t the only contentious moment involving Pospisil in the game. Earlier, he had a notable collision with Kraken defenseman Adam Larsson, which also drew criticism. Additionally, Pospisil engaged in a brief altercation with forward Tye Kartye during the second period.

In his first season with the Flames, the 24-year-old Slovakian forward has become known for his physical play, leading the team in penalty minutes with 72. Despite his aggressive style, he has contributed six goals and nine assists across 45 games.
