Logan Edmonstone made an impressive 48 saves as the Kamloops Blazers suffered a 3-1 defeat against the Seattle Thunderbirds on Tuesday night.Since his debut in the WHL against the Kelowna Rockets earlier this month, the 16-year-old Edmonstone has garnered attention for his performance.

The youthful Blazers committed their sole offense of the game while fielding their youngest lineup of the season. This lineup comprised six players in their 16-year-old season: Edmonstone, Isa Guram on defense, and Pantelankis, Nathan Behm, Tommy Lafreniere, and Andrew Thomson as forwards.
Additionally, 15-year-old forward Ty Bonkowski made his debut in the WHL. Nishaan Parmar equalized for Seattle in the first period, followed by goals from Nathan Pilling in the second and Jeremy Hanzel in the third, enabling the Thunderbirds to secure the victory. Edmonstone was charged with the loss, while Scott Ratzlaff of Seattle stopped 31 out of 32 shots to claim the win.
The Blazers’ record now stands at 20-40-3-3, translating to 46 points accumulated over 66 games, positioning them at the bottom of the WHL standings. They are eight points behind Seattle, who have improved to 26-37-2-0, totaling 54 points in 65 games.
To conclude the season, the Blazers have a home-and-home series against the Prince George Cougars scheduled for this weekend. They will host the Cougars, who currently lead the Western Conference, on Friday night and then play away on Saturday night.
Unfortunately, defenseman Ryan Michael will be absent from the lineup as he is scheduled for surgery this week to address a persistent lower body issue.
