REPORT: T.J. Watt Sends Strong-Word Message To Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers have intensified their pursuit of new quarterbacks this offseason, and T.J. Watt anticipates the opportunity for fresh experiences in the upcoming 2024 season.
Throughout his NFL career, Watt has achieved individual success, yet he has yet to taste victory in a playoff game since joining Pittsburgh. His prospects of breaking this streak largely hinge on the performances of Russell Wilson and Justin Fields in the months ahead. Speaking from the 101 Awards in Kansas City, Watt expressed enthusiasm for both quarterbacks, noting their high level of play in the NFL.
“I’m eager to glean insights from them and, hopefully, impart some of Pittsburgh’s winning ways,” Watt stated via PJ Green of Fox4 in Kansas City. “Having never won a playoff game in my career, I’m receptive to any knowledge that can help us improve. Hopefully, these quarterbacks can contribute to our success. It’s a challenging and competitive league, especially in our division. Having a dependable quarterback is crucial. Our focus this year is on maintaining our health and upward trajectory.”
While Watt didn’t directly critique the quarterbacks the team has had in recent years, his remarks hint at underlying frustration with Pittsburgh’s performance. Wilson and Fields now have the opportunity to alter this narrative.
