Insiders have revealed that Longstaff, aged 26, is expected to maintain his role in the midfield for the Magpies, having become a pivotal figure during Tonali’s absence. Longstaff’s status as a home-grown player means that any potential sale would result in pure profit for Newcastle United. However, it is understood that both manager Eddie Howe and the club are reluctant to part ways with him.
