Cole Beasley, a former Buffalo Bills wide receiver, is unhappy with the wardrobe choices of this year’s top QB prospect.

Beasley resorted to social media on March 30 to express his disgust with USC quarterback Caleb Williams, who was observed at an NCAA basketball game wearing painted nails and a pink cell phone case. Despite Williams’ explanation of the deeper meaning underlying his dress choices, Beasley did not appear pleased with Williams.

“I can’t with these guys. “Lol,” Beasley wrote in a post on X.

This wasn’t the initial occasion Beasley criticized Williams for his painted nails. Earlier in January, the former wide receiver expressed his discontent with the quarterback, who was anticipated to be the top pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Beasley questioned the trend of men painting their nails, stating, “What’s with all these guys painting their nails nowadays? That’s not right…”

Following backlash for his March 30 post, Beasley defended his stance against critics, expressing disagreement with societal changes that he perceives as blurring traditional gender norms.

He argued, “I’m trying to navigate raising children in a world that is becoming increasingly perplexing. While individuals are free to make their choices, I oppose the glorification of such behavior.”

In response, Tori Rubinstein of NBC Sports Chicago highlighted Williams’ explanation that his painted nails hold sentimental value, serving as a tribute to his mother’s profession in a nail salon.

Williams explained, “It began around three years ago during my final year of high school. My mother has always been in the nail industry, and it’s been a part of my life. I’m the only one doing it; I simply enjoy exploring new things.”

Cole Beasley Cut Ties With Buffalo

Beasley’s history with controversy traces back to his tenure with the Bills. He emerged as a vocal critic of the league’s COVID-19 protocols and publicly criticized the team following his departure after the 2022 season.

In an interview with Outkick released on July 12, 2023, Beasley expressed how the team’s atmosphere shifted for him with the onset of the pandemic.

He remarked, “Things changed within the organization, in the facility, and even with the fans. Initially, during my first year there, I cherished Buffalo and rediscovered my passion for football. I valued that experience. However, once Covid became a factor, everything shifted.”

Beasley elaborated, highlighting the impact of changes within the organization on his experience, stating, “Dealing with fans is one aspect, but interactions within the organization had a greater effect on me. I’ve always coped with fans’ criticisms, even during my time in Dallas. That’s something I can handle. But witnessing alterations in how I was treated within the organization was a different matter.”

Additionally, Beasley called out Bills legend Bruce Smith for his involvement in the team’s push to encourage vaccination among players.
