BREAKING NEWS: Oakland Athletics Confirms Key Star Will Miss 2024 Season After Critical Surgery
Oakland Athletics’ right-handed pitcher Trevor Gott underwent Tommy John surgery, sidelining him for the entire season.
The procedure was conducted on Wednesday by Dr. Keith Meister, the team physician for the Texas Rangers, in Arlington, Texas.
Gott, aged 31, had signed a $1.5 million contract with the Athletics in December and was anticipated to play a role in the team’s bullpen. However, he struggled during spring training, allowing eight runs in four appearances, with his last outing on March 16.
Throughout his career, Gott has amassed a record of 16-15 with a 4.65 ERA across 255 relief appearances for various teams including the Los Angeles Angels (2015), Washington Nationals (2016-2018), San Francisco Giants (2019-2020), Milwaukee Brewers (2022), Seattle Mariners (2023), and the New York Mets.
