Sources close to Football Insider have indicated that Newcastle United’s Miguel Almiron may be seeking a departure from the club this summer. According to Pete O’Rourke, a transfer specialist on Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, there is anticipation that several clubs will express interest in the 30-year-old during the upcoming transfer window.

Almiron was close to joining Saudi Pro League team Al-Shabab in January, but talks broke down, and the deal fell through despite extensive negotiations. It’s understood that Al-Shabab was unwilling to meet Newcastle’s £30 million asking price for the Paraguayan forward, resulting in him remaining with the club.

However, it’s anticipated that clubs will view the forward as a viable target, and Newcastle United is poised to entertain suitable offers. Additionally, there are expectations that the Magpies will authorize player departures this summer due to concerns about potentially violating the Premier League’s financial regulations.

According to reliable sources cited by Football Insider on March 17th, Eddie Howe’s team may be compelled to part ways with one of their key players during the upcoming transfer window.

Despite being close to a transfer away from the club earlier, Almiron has remained a consistent presence for Newcastle, starting 29 games across all competitions. In a total of 41 appearances, the winger has contributed five goals and three assists, albeit without scoring in the Premier League since December.

Newcastle currently occupies the eighth position in the Premier League standings following their recent 1-0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday, April 6th. Their next fixture is scheduled to take place at St James’ Park this weekend, on April 13th, against Tottenham.
