BREAKING: Maple Leafs Confirms The Signing Of Another Defenseman to two-year entry-level contract
The Toronto Maple Leafs have officially announced the signing of defenseman Cade Webber to a two-year entry-level contract. The deal, disclosed on Thursday, carries an average annual value of $875,000.
Webber, 23, had a productive season in the 2023-24 NCAA campaign with Boston University, tallying six assists in 38 games. His contributions helped the Terriers advance to the semifinals of the 2024 Men’s Frozen Four tournament.
Hailing from Meadville, Pennsylvania, Webber has accumulated 16 points (one goal, 15 assists) across 123 career NCAA games with Boston University. Notably, he was honored as Hockey East’s top defensive defenseman for the 2023-24 season.

Standing at an imposing six-foot-seven and weighing 210 pounds, Webber was originally drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the fourth round (99th overall) of the 2019 NHL draft. He joined the Maple Leafs following a trade with the Hurricanes on March 7.
