JUST IN: Tobie Paquette-Bisson’s comments did not please management
The Rocket had to win both Friday and Saturday games against the Belleville Senators within regulation time to keep their playoff hopes alive. Unfortunately, they lost on Friday, effectively ending their chances of making it to the playoffs.
Despite this, coach Jean-François Houle opted to trust a young defensive lineup on Friday, a decision that didn’t sit well with one of the team’s veterans, Tobie Bisson.
Following Friday’s game, Bisson expressed his dissatisfaction, suggesting that the presence of veterans could have made a difference. However, his outspokenness was met with disapproval, as Anthony Marcotte reported on X / Twitter, stating that Tobie Paquette-Bisson faced repercussions for his comments about the decision to bench some veterans on Friday.

“The Canadiens are currently in a phase of development, aiming to give their young players opportunities to showcase their skills. Conversely, the Rocket, being heavily involved in the playoff race, naturally elicited frustration from veterans like Bisson.
Bisson, who consistently puts in hard work for his team and desires victory, understandably sought the best chance for advancing to the next round, given his veteran status with the club. Is it fair to fault him for that? The dynamics of the American League are inherently complex, as the success of affiliated teams is crucial.
However, there’s also a prevailing sentiment to prioritize the nurturing of young talent within the organization, with the aim of eventual contributions to the main roster. Nonetheless, it’s reasonable for a veteran to feel disgruntled and disagree with coaching decisions. Such is the nature of the game, for better or for worse.”
