Nicholson’s accolades include winning the 2023 Lou Groza Award and earning consensus first-team All-American honors, making him the first player in MAC history to receive this prestigious award. During his time with the Redhawks, he boasted impressive stats, finishing the season with a remarkable 27-of-28 on field goals and 35-of-37 on extra points. Notably, Nicholson set an NCAA record with 25 consecutive made field goals in a single season, and his 84.5% career field goal success rate ranks as the best in program history.
With the departure of NCAA’s all-time points leader, Will Reichard, Nicholson is poised to step into the role of Alabama’s kicker, tasked with filling some big shoes.
