Hailing from Las Vegas, Nevada, and representing Desert Oasis High School, Walsh delivered an impressive slash line of .706/.750/1.647 during Oregon’s 2-2 showing. As the Ducks’ first baseman, he amassed a remarkable 12 hits out of 17 at-bats, with eight of those hits resulting in extra bases, including four homers and four doubles.

Walsh maintained consistency throughout the week, securing multiple hits in each of the four games, highlighted by a 4-hit display and two 3-hit performances.

His offensive prowess was evident as he contributed significantly to Oregon’s victories. Notably, he drove in eight runs in a Tuesday triumph against Gonzaga and added two more RBIs in a win over Stanford on Saturday.

Demonstrating his power, Walsh launched homers in three consecutive games, further solidifying his standing as Oregon’s career home run leader with a total of 38, including his fifth career two-home run game against Gonzaga.

Walsh’s achievement marks him as only the fourth Oregon Duck to receive the NCBWA Hitter of the Week honor, joining the ranks of Spencer Steer, Mitchell Tolman (who received the recognition twice), and Kenyon Yovan.
