BREAKING: Detroit Tigers Prospect Star Undergoes Surgery to Repair Fractured Finger
Ryan Kreidler’s journey with the Detroit Tigers took a detour due to a finger injury requiring surgery. Despite a strong showing in Spring Training, where he displayed his offensive prowess with a .306 batting average, two home runs, and a .917 OPS, Kreidler found himself optioned to Triple-A Toledo. Unfortunately, his minor league stint was cut short when he suffered a fractured right index finger after being hit by a pitch.
Following surgery to address the injury, Kreidler has been diligently rehabilitating, with hopes of returning to full strength. Despite a slow start to the season, his time off may provide an opportunity to reset and rediscover his form at the plate.

Kreidler, a notable infield prospect drafted by the Tigers in 2019, made his MLB debut during September call-ups in 2022. While he’s yet to find consistent success with the bat in the majors, his defensive skills have been noteworthy, tallying four defensive runs saved at shortstop and third base.
With a minor league career boasting a .241 batting average, a .756 OPS, and impressive totals in home runs, RBI, and stolen bases, Kreidler possesses significant potential. As he continues his recovery, the Tigers and their fans eagerly anticipate his return to action, hopeful that his time off will lead to a resurgence at the plate.
