Josh Allen, the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, will have a new backup for the 2024 NFL season as Kyle Allen moves on. Kyle has signed a one-year contract worth $1.29 million with the Pittsburgh Steelers in free agency. On Tuesday, April 23, his fiancée, Summer Juraszek, responded to a fan question on her Instagram Stories, expressing that she will miss everything about Buffalo, especially the people.

Leaving Buffalo might be harder than usual for Kyle since he and Josh were best friends before he joined the Bills. Despite not making any starts in Buffalo, Kyle made brief appearances in seven games without recording any stats.

Since joining the NFL in 2018, Kyle has played for the Carolina Panthers, Washington Commanders, and Houston Texans. In his 23 game appearances and 19 starts, he has thrown for 4,734 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 21 interceptions.

Juraszek is enthusiastic about Kyle’s new opportunity with the Steelers. After Steelers’ general manager Omar Khan announced Kyle’s signing during the NFL’s annual meeting in Orlando, Florida, she celebrated the news on Instagram, expressing her excitement for their seventh year together. She wrote, “Here we go,” along with a gold and black heart, adding, “Year 7. So grateful! Love you @kyle_allen.”

Despite Kyle’s departure from the Bills, he and Josh continue to be close friends. During an appearance on Kyle’s podcast, “The QB Room,” Josh expressed his excitement for Kyle’s upcoming wedding this summer, naming it as the offseason activity he is most looking forward to.

Josh Allen Skipped the Oscars With Hailee Steinfeld to Attend Kyle Allen’s Bachelor Party

During an interview with Kay Adams on her “Up & Adams” live show in Las Vegas on February 9, Josh Allen hinted that he might accompany his girlfriend, Hailee Steinfeld, to the 2024 Oscars on March 10. Steinfeld’s film, “Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse,” was nominated for Best Animated Feature Film at the 96th annual Academy Awards.

However, Josh didn’t end up going because Kyle’s bachelor party was scheduled for the same weekend. Joining Kyle were Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Darnold, Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Christian Kirk, and Jordan Palmer, co-host of “The QB Room” podcast.

On the podcast, Josh humorously recounted how he almost spoiled the trip to Ohoopee Match Club in Georgia, where they went golfing. Despite Kyle initially leading, Josh managed to catch up and tie the score, prompting Kyle to jokingly express his disappointment. “Kyle looked at me afterward, and goes, ‘I haven’t been this sad in a long time,’” Josh remembered.

Earlier this month, Josh, Kyle, Summer, and others attended Kirk’s wedding in Arizona.

Bills News: Former Steelers QB Mitch Trubisky Returned to Buffalo as Josh Allen’s Backup QB

As Kyle Allen heads to Pittsburgh, former Steelers quarterback Mitch Trubisky is making his way back to Buffalo. The former second overall pick from the 2017 NFL draft parted ways with the Bills on good terms.

Trubisky joined the Steelers with hopes of becoming their new starting quarterback, but things didn’t pan out as expected. Despite signing a lucrative two-year deal worth $14.25 million with potential earnings up to $27 million in incentives, his tenure as a starter was short-lived.

By week 5 of the 2022 NFL season, Trubisky found himself benched in favor of then-rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett. Trubisky made two more starts after Pickett suffered an ankle injury last season, but unfortunately went winless in those games. Pittsburgh then turned to quarterback Mason Rudolph, who managed to secure three victories and clinch a playoff spot for the Steelers.

Although Trubisky had “a few spots” in mind where he’d like to continue his career, he expressed to reporters that returning to Buffalo was his top choice. Reuniting with Josh Allen and joining a competitive team felt like the obvious decision for the 29-year-old quarterback.

Trubisky ultimately signed a two-year, $5.25 million contract with the Bills, which includes $2.7 million guaranteed.
