JUST IN: Another 22-years old key man transfer to North Carolina
Toward the end of the 2023-2024 college basketball season, speculation arose regarding potential transfers that might impact the UNC basketball team.
One prominent rumor involved Clemson’s PJ Hall, a well-known big man familiar to Tar Heels fans from his matchups with Armando Bacot. With Bacot nearing the end of his eligibility, Hall was linked to the UNC program if he decided to use his fifth year of eligibility.
Despite the rumors, nothing materialized, as Hall declared for the NBA Draft and hired an agent. At the NBA Draft Combine, Hall addressed the media, eager to dispel those rumors.
1-on-1 with @ClemsonMBB graduate PJ Hall at the NBA Combine. How comfortable he feels in round two plus how @h_tyson5's example set him up for success.

“In terms of closing the door on playing another season at the college level, there was a strange rumor about me going to UNC. I want to make it clear that it was absolutely never a possibility. That was never going to happen.”
Hall took this opportunity to demonstrate his loyalty to Clemson, and you can’t blame him for wanting to set the record straight. Now that he’s committed to the NBA, Hall can make such statements confidently, having no intention of returning to college basketball.
However, we question Hall’s assertion a bit. Are we really to believe that if he entered the transfer portal and Hubert Davis reached out, he wouldn’t be tempted to spend his final collegiate season with a potential national championship contender?
Never say never, my friend.
In this unpredictable era of the transfer portal, this rumor can now be officially laid to rest.
According to Hall, he had absolutely no desire to join the UNC basketball program.
