BREAKING: Kentucky Women’s Basketball was declared the transfer portal’s “winner.”
There is no doubt that new women’s basketball head coach Kenny Brooks has excelled since being hired in Lexington.
Brooks has relied heavily on the transfer portal to assemble his first roster in Lexington, and it’s clear he has done an exceptional job, comparable to anyone in the country.
In fact, On3’s Talia Goodman recognized the Cats as one of the ten “winners” of the transfer portal this offseason.
Brooks brought talent from his former school, including Clara Strack and All-American guard Georgia Amoore, who both transferred from Virginia Tech to Lexington. Additionally, JUCO transfer Amelia Hassett switched her commitment from the Hokies to the Cats.
Former top-10 recruit Teonni Key moved from UNC to Kentucky, and mid-major stars Dazia Lawrence from Charlotte and Jordan Obi from Penn also joined Brooks and Kentucky.
It’s safe to say Brooks has set himself up for a very successful first season in Lexington.
