BREAKING: Oregon State added point guard to 2024-25 roster committed to Beavers.
Oregon State strengthened its 2024-25 lineup on Thursday by securing a commitment from point guard Mackenzie Shivers of Mesa Community College.
Standing at 5-foot-6, Shivers becomes the fifth new addition to OSU’s roster this spring, bringing the total number of players to 10. The Beavers have been actively rebuilding their team after eight players transferred in April following their Elite Eight appearance.
Shivers joins transfers La Salle guard Tiara Bolden, Baylor guard Catarina Ferriera, and Florida State wing Lucia Navarro, along with incoming freshman Denmark post Elisa Mehyar. OSU also has five returning players from last season.
During her two seasons at Mesa, Shivers was a consistent double-digit scorer. Last season, she shot 35% from three-point range, averaging 10.9 points and 3.3 assists per game. In her freshman year, she averaged 11.6 points per game. Over her 51-game junior college career, Shivers started 49 times.
At the NJCAA Division II tournament in March, Shivers scored 73 points and shot 50.2% from the field over four games, leading Mesa to a third-place finish.
