BREAKING NEWS: Oklahoma bringing home QB key man who greater than Jackson Arnold
The Sooners have expanded their quarterback options with the arrival of Steele Wasel, who transferred from Akron. Wasel, a standout from Choctaw High School in Oklahoma, brings his talents back home to join Oklahoma ahead of the 2024 season. At 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds, Wasel adds depth to the roster, filling the gap left by departing walk-on quarterbacks.
His return to Oklahoma adds another skilled arm to the mix, complementing the already talented group of quarterbacks led by Jackson Arnold. With experienced players like Casey Thompson and promising newcomers like Michael Hawkins and Brendan Zurbrugg, Wasel’s addition enhances the team’s quarterback lineup. He steps into the spot vacated by General Booty, who moved on to Louisiana-Monroe.
Joining a successful post-spring transfer class for the Sooners, including additions like Branson Hickman and Damonic Williams, Wasel gears up for summer workouts in Norman. With the SEC Media Days approaching and fall camp on the horizon, Oklahoma prepares for its inaugural SEC season, starting with a home game against Temple on August 30th at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
