BREAKING: Green Bay Packers Confirms The Signing Of Another Star
For the past few seasons, one of the Green Bay Packers’ main defensive deficiencies has been the safety position. The three safeties that participated in the most snaps during the previous campaign were Darnell Savage, Rudy Ford, and Jonathan Owens. Ford is still a free agent, Savage signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and Owens signed with the Chicago Bears, meaning none of the three players named are on the team.
Xavier McKinney was signed by the Packers in the open market. Acquiring McKinney won’t be enough to fix all of their safety issues; they still need to address the other safety post. In the second round, they selected one.

In the 58th pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Javon Bullard was selected by the Packers. Bullard became the second last-draft selection to agree to a rookie deal.
Javon Bullard signed his rookie contract
Bullard inked a four-year rookie deal worth $6,706,132 with a signing bonus of $1,697,188, according to Over The Cap. The lone draft pick selected by the Packers who is still unsigned is James Morgan.
Bullard was an SEC college football player.
Javon Bullard played college football for the Georgia Bulldogs
For the 2021 campaign, Bullard made a three-star recruiting commitment to the Bulldogs. Playing nickel and both safety positions, he would have a strong career with the team, appearing in 41 games with 22 starts. Eight TFLs, 3.5 sacks, four interceptions, eight pass deflections, and 114 tackles were also part of his stats.
In 2023, Bullard had a total of 56 tackles, one TFL, two interceptions, five pass deflections, and 12 starts at safety. He had grades of 88.4 for coverage, 78.4 for tackling, 67.1 for run defense, and 82.8 for PFF.
Lance Zierlein did a scouting report on Javon Bullard
Although Bullard lacks the length and range clubs look for in a split safety and isn’t a perfect fit as a full-time nickel, he is a fine football player with the field awareness coaches value. Although his lateral movement control may occasionally lead to missed tackles and throwing windows, his route awareness and pursuit angles will assist to stabilize his play.
“There will be some difficult matches, but NFL teams would be well to take a cue from Georgia, where he was used as a big nickel with run support and minimal man cover responsibilities. Bullard should be able to develop into a strong NFL starter with the correct fit.
