HUGE BOOST: Alabama confirm 4 superstar commitment including huge contract agreement
Kalen DeBoer is welcoming another addition following the first official visitors’ weekend of the summer. Chuck McDonald, a four-star cornerback from Mater Dei (California), has committed to Alabama, as confirmed by Bama247 on Saturday. McDonald, who had his official visit from May 31 to June 21, had initially planned visits to Georgia, Oregon, and USC later in June but felt convinced enough after his trip to Tuscaloosa.
Reflecting on his visit, McDonald shared positive feedback, emphasizing the warmth of meeting everyone in person for the first time and feeling comfortable throughout the trip. He highlighted one-on-one meetings with the staff, expressing how they made him feel valued and showcased how his skills could thrive at Alabama.
McDonald’s decision was influenced by connections he has on Alabama’s roster, including former high school teammate Zabien Brown and Domani Jackson. The prospect had conversations with Brown about his positive experiences at Alabama, adding to the appeal.
Alabama’s 2025 recruiting class now boasts 12 commitments, ranking fourth nationally, with McDonald and quarterback Keelon Russell being the latest additions. Notably, McDonald’s commitment adds to the presence of his teammate Abduall Sanders Jr. in the class.
Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 190 pounds, McDonald is highly regarded, ranked as the 13th cornerback, 115th overall prospect, and ninth player in California according to the 247Sports Player Rankings.
Greg Biggins provided a scouting report on McDonald, praising his continuous improvement, physical attributes, speed, ball-hawking abilities, and defensive prowess. McDonald’s skills project well for the college level and beyond, with traits that align with NFL standards.
