JUST IN : Another superstar QB return to Winnipeg with shocking agreement
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Former South Dakota Coyote quarterback Chris Streveler holds a legendary status in both Vermillion and Winnipeg, the latter due to his success with the Blue Bombers in the CFL.
After earning the Missouri Valley Offensive Player of the Year Award and being the runner-up for the Walter Payton FCS National Player of the Year Award with the Coyotes in 2017, Streveler joined the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2018. He quickly became a fan favorite as the backup quarterback and a versatile running option.
His contributions were pivotal in helping the Blue Bombers secure the Grey Cup in 2019.
This success led to an opportunity with the Arizona Cardinals during their training camp, and Streveler eventually saw regular season action with both the Cardinals and the New York Jets.
However, an injury during the 2023 NFL Hall of Fame preseason game sidelined him for the season, landing him on the Jets’ injured reserve. Streveler signed to return to the Blue Bombers this season and expressed his eagerness to return to play after a lengthy rehab.
In his first game back last week against Montreal, Chris rushed seven times for 32 yards.
