DONE DEAL: BLUE BOMBERS CONFIRM ANOTHER 26-YEARS OLD SUPERSTAR
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced today that they have added National fullback/linebacker Bailey Feltmate and American linebacker Tony Jones to their practice roster.
Bailey Feltmate (6-2, 240 lbs, Acadia; born January 22, 1998, in Moncton, NB) joins the team after being released late in training camp by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. During his college career at Acadia from 2016 to 2020, Feltmate played in 31 games and was picked 17th overall in the second round of the 2020 CFL Draft by the Tiger-Cats. Over the past three CFL seasons (2021-2023), he played 43 games for the Tiger-Cats, tallying 35 special teams tackles and four defensive tackles.
Tony Jones (6-2, 235 lbs, Texas Tech; born August 5, 1995, in Casselberry, FL) joins the Blue Bombers after being released by the Edmonton Elks. Jones has played in 20 CFL games, including all 18 games for the Elks in 2023, where he started five games and recorded 41 defensive tackles, 11 special teams tackles, one forced fumble, and one sack last season.
Jones had a four-year collegiate career at Butler Community College (NJCAA) (2015-2016) and Texas Tech (2017-2018), appearing in 24 Division 1 games with five starts. He recorded one interception, 77 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss, three knockdowns, three fumble recoveries, and eight sacks. Additionally, Jones played in the Indoor Football League (IFL) for the Iowa Barnstormers in 2021, earning First Team All-IFL, All-Rookie Team, and Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.
