Alabama transfer their current top superstar,.. how connected Kalen DeBoer is with this team?
If the entire Alabama fan base lacked a reason to appreciate Kalen DeBoer, they now have one.
DeBoer brings significant value to the Crimson Tide by retaining the core group of players, preserving most of the 2024 freshman class, attracting quality transfers from the NCAA transfer portal, and effectively recruiting for future classes since Nick Saban announced his retirement. At 49, DeBoer has a unique charisma, and the players are fully committed to achieving success under his leadership.
Names like Tyler Booker and Jalen Milroe have talked about the family atmosphere DeBoer creates, but there’s more to it. LT Overton, a transfer defensive lineman from Texas A&M, highlighted another aspect during an interview with Roger Hoover of Crimson Tide Sports Network.
Overton pointed out his new coach’s adeptness with social media.

“When they [Alabama] brought in DeBoer, I could just tell… I love his vibe,” Overton said.
“He brings in a younger generational vibe, but he makes sure that it is not just one-sided. He interacts with everyone from walk-ons to the O-Line and D-Line, not just the offense. It’s genuine, and it’s something I can relate to.”
Overton has DeBoer’s phone number, but there’s something even cooler.
“I have never had a coach on Snapchat,” Overton said.
“I have DeBoer on Snapchat. It’s crazy, but that’s how connected he is with his team.”
DeBoer is doing things his way, and so far, it’s working out well in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
