Michigan football lands 4-superstars for shocking battle including JJ McCarthy plans
Michigan football recruiting has been relatively quiet in the months following their national title victory, but things are starting to heat up. Recently, the Wolverines secured several key commitments for their 2025 class and have now added an elite quarterback for the 2026 class. Four-star QB Brady Hart announced his commitment to Michigan on Tuesday. The Wolverines are gaining momentum on the recruiting front.
“BREAKING: Four-Star QB Brady Hart (2026) has Committed to Michigan, he tells me for @on3recruits,” tweeted Hayes Fawcett. “The 6’5 190 QB from Melbourne, FL chose the Wolverines over LSU, Clemson, & Ohio State. Ranked as a Top 10 QB in ‘26 (per On3 Industry) ‘Michigan is Home!! GoBlue.’”
Hart’s name is particularly fitting for Michigan football, evoking memories of legends Tom Brady and Mike Hart. He aspires to have a career as successful as theirs.
This commitment is significant for Michigan, securing a top quarterback prospect for their 2026 class. According to 247 Sports, Hart is a four-star recruit, ranked #92 overall in the 2026 class, the #7 quarterback, and the #15 player in Florida. Hart currently attends Cocoa High School in Cocoa, Florida, and has two more years of high school before joining Michigan.
The recent national championship win has been a major recruiting advantage for Michigan. Hart is eager to join a top-tier college football team, and Michigan is currently one of the best.
Despite Jim Harbaugh no longer being the head coach, Hart has confidence in the new coaching staff. Sherrone Moore, the new head coach, and his staff are committed to maintaining Michigan’s winning tradition.
“Coach (Sherrone) Moore, coach (Kirk) Campbell, and the entire staff believe they will continue winning, which is huge for me,” Hart said, according to a tweet from Rivals. “The ability to win at a high level and compete for a national championship every year is crucial, and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”
The future looks bright for Michigan at the QB position
JJ McCarthy, the starting quarterback for Michigan football over the past two seasons, was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings. McCarthy was outstanding for the Wolverines and will be hard to replace, but the future at the quarterback position looks promising. QB coach Kirk Campbell has been actively recruiting for the future.
Alex Orji is expected to be the starting quarterback next year, and there’s a wealth of talent backing him up. Michigan’s quarterback roster now includes 2024 recruit Jadyn Davis (ranked #9 QB in his class), 2025 recruit Carter Smith (#14 QB), and 2026 recruit Brady Hart (#7 QB).
It will be intriguing to see what the mobile Orji can achieve if he secures the starting role. When his tenure in Ann Arbor ends, the Wolverines have a strong lineup of talented quarterbacks ready to step up. Kirk Campbell has done an impressive job on the recruiting front.
