JUST IN: 5-Star UGA Target Blasts Cryptic Side of CFB Recruiting
Pressure-filled battles on the gridiron receive all the attention on fall Saturdays, but the intense competition on the recruiting trail often goes unnoticed.
Programs work hard to present themselves in the best light to recruits while also planting seeds of doubt about other competing teams.
Five-star Georgia target Isaiah Gibson recently provided an interesting perspective on the “negative recruiting” tactics prevalent in college football. The Warner Robins High School (Ga.) standout decommitted from USC on June 18 and is now projected by all three major recruiting services to join the Bulldogs.
Gibson, standing 6-foot-4 and weighing 245 pounds, is ranked as the No. 6 player in Georgia and the No. 17 overall prospect, according to 247Sports.

Gibson has been busy with official visits, traveling to Ohio State, Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, South Carolina, and Georgia (on May 31).

A consistent theme has emerged during each of his visits, though it’s worth noting that Gibson might be referring to a school other than Georgia.
However, given his projection to UGA, it’s likely the Bulldogs are involved.
One of Georgia's top recruiting targets for the 2025 class has backed off his pledge to USC.

Kirby Smart and his staff rarely miss out on players they target. Fresh off signing the No. 1 overall class in the 2024 cycle, Georgia is now striving to overtake Ohio State for the top spot in the 2025 class.
