BREAK: Ballers Secure Split shocking sideline

DAVIS, Calif. – Timely hitting and powerful swings led Oakland to a 9-6 victory, enabling them to secure a series split with the Yolo High Wheelers.
The game was marked by extra-base hits on Sunday afternoon, beginning with Austin Davis’s leadoff double. Davis later scored on Trevor Halsema’s sacrifice fly.
Oakland’s initial 1-0 lead grew in the second inning when Payton Harden hit a three-run triple to right-center with the bases loaded.
Dondrei Hubbard joined the extra-base hit parade in the third, hitting a solo home run off Ben Ferrer.
Pitcher Aaron Eden held a 5-2 lead into the sixth inning but was pulled after giving up a two-run single to Kirkland Banks, having thrown over 100 pitches. Jake Dahle replaced him, walked the first batter, and then allowed a two-run single to Brayland Skinner, putting Yolo ahead 6-5.
Oakland quickly responded. In the seventh, after a prolonged at-bat, Austin Davis launched a 3-2 changeup from Yolo’s Jacob Stobart for a game-tying home run.
Oakland continued their seventh-inning rally with a two-out single by Trevor Halsema and a walk to Hubbard, bringing Noah Martinez to the plate. Martinez, after battling Stobart, managed to drop an RBI single over the infield. Another run was added when Tyler Lozano was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, making it 8-6.
The bullpen took over from there. Conner Richardson pitched two perfect innings with three strikeouts, and Chandler David, working his third consecutive day, retired the side in order for his second professional save.
The Ballers are now 3.0 games out of a playoff spot with 18 games left in the first half. They will begin a six-game home series against the Northern Colorado Owlz on Tuesday.
