BREAK: Georgia football confirm 16th top rated superstar commitments
Georgia secured its 16th commitment for the 2025 class on Wednesday with Seffner (Fla.) Armwood wide receiver Tyler Williams announcing his decision to join the Bulldogs. Williams, standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 205 pounds, opted for Georgia over offers from Miami, Syracuse, UCF, and 31 other schools. He becomes the third wide receiver commitment in the 2025 cycle under assistant James Coley, joining four-star recruits Tayln Taylor and Thomas Blackshear.
With Williams on board, Georgia has surpassed Notre Dame to claim the No. 3 spot in the 247Sports Team Class Rankings. According to 247Sports, Williams ranks as the No. 100 wide receiver and the No. 73 overall recruit in Florida.
Williams’ junior highlights showcase his abilities, where he recorded 26 catches for 585 yards and 14 touchdowns, along with three punt return touchdowns, two kickoff return touchdowns, and an interception on defense. As a sophomore, he posted 29 catches for 587 yards and eight touchdowns. His athletic prowess extends beyond football, as he achieved a high jump of 6’1.5″ and played basketball, averaging 6.2 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.
During his recent visit to Georgia, Williams discussed his potential role with the coaching staff, receiving assurances of a versatile usage across multiple receiver positions, drawing comparisons to George Pickens for his strong catching ability and playmaking skills downfield.
According to 247Sports Director of Scouting Andrew Ivins, Williams is described as a sturdy wide receiver with exceptional body control, effective in catch-and-run scenarios. Despite playing with a less conventional quarterback in his junior year, Williams scored 14 touchdowns at an average of 22.5 yards per catch, while also contributing significantly on special teams. His agility, core strength, and knack for getting open in deeper routes make him a formidable prospect. Although lacking extensive testing data, Williams’ on-field speed and ability to win matchups suggest he could become a consistent starter at a high level of competition, potentially contributing early in his career.
