BREAKING: Beavers confirm top rated star via the transfer portal

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Head coach Laura Berg and the Oregon State softball program have welcomed two new student-athletes via the transfer portal for the 2025 season: Jaeya Butler and Kaylie Hoskins.

**Jaeya Butler**

– **Position:** Infielder
– **Hometown:** San Bernardino, Calif. (Michigan State)

Returning to the West Coast, Butler brings her Big Ten experience to the Beavers for the upcoming season. She made 12 starts for the Spartans, achieving a .371 batting average with five home runs and eight RBIs. In just her second weekend of collegiate play, she was named the Big Ten’s Freshman of the Week (ending February 19th) after hitting .438 with two home runs, two doubles, and eight runs scored.

During her high school career at Aquinas High School in San Bernardino, Butler was the team captain and posted impressive offensive stats in her senior year: 14 home runs and 68 RBIs.

**Kaylie Hoskins**
– **Position:** Left-handed Pitcher
– **Hometown:** Lake Stevens, Wash. (Eastern Oregon)

Hoskins joins from NAIA powerhouse Eastern Oregon, where she was a 2023 and 2024 All-American. She will strengthen the Beavers’ pitching staff after recording nearly 400 strikeouts for the Mounties.

Hoskins was a dominant pitcher during her time in La Grande, earning Cascades Coast Conference (CCC) First Team All-League honors in 2023 and 2024, the 2024 CCC Pitcher of the Year award, 2023 NFCA All-Region honors, and being named a Daktronics Scholar Athlete.

In 2024, she posted a 16-4 record in 24 appearances, completing 16 games and shutting out opponents eight times. She finished the season with 299 strikeouts against just 59 walks, holding batters to a .139 average over 207.1 innings, with an ERA of 0.94. Hoskins recorded double-digit strikeouts 16 times, including a personal best of 17 strikeouts in an extra-inning game against Bushnell in April.
