JUST IN: Tennessee Volunteers landed another key trail.
The Tennessee Volunteers have secured another crucial win on the 2025 recruiting front.
Head coach Josh Heupel has already assembled an impressive roster, with the Vols’ 2025 class currently ranked 12th nationally.
This already strong group has become even stronger with the addition of Tre Poteat, a three-star cornerback from Verona, Wisconsin.
Notably, Poteat chose the Volunteers over offers from Michigan, Wisconsin, and Iowa State.
“I see that with the resources they have, they can make me the best player I can be and help me reach my max potential,” Poteat told On3 about his decision to commit to Tennessee.
“My favorite thing about the Vols is that the coaches keep everything real. They never sugarcoated anything and just kept it honest,” he added. “The fan support, there’s something different over in Knoxville.”
This speaks to the excitement Heupel is generating at Rocky Top, especially considering the strong fanbases of Michigan, Wisconsin, and Iowa State.
According to 247Sports, Poteat is the No. 48 cornerback in the 2025 class.
