Report: Heat To Re-Sign 5-Star Player in Blockbuster Two-Year Deal
On April 19, 2024, in Miami, Florida, USA, Miami Heat forward Kevin Love (42) observed his shot against Chicago Bulls center Nikola Vucevic (9) during the fourth quarter of a 2024 NBA playoffs play-in game at Kaseya Center. Love has expressed his desire to remain in South Florida for the rest of his career and is reportedly nearing a two-year, $8 million deal with the Heat, marking his second full season with the team since joining midseason in 2023.
Last season, Love averaged 8.8 points and 6.1 rebounds. Additionally, Miami Heat players Caleb Martin and Thomas Bryant declined their player options, becoming free agents. Martin, a key rotation player in recent seasons, holds more significance between the two.

The Heat have also extended qualifying offers to Cole Swider and Alondes Williams, who split time between the Heat and their G League affiliate in Sioux Falls last season. Swider led the Skyforce with an average of 24.9 points per game, while Williams averaged 21.7 points, 7.3 assists, and 5.4 rebounds.
Josh Richardson has opted to exercise his $3 million player option to remain with the Miami Heat for another season, per a report by Shams Charania of The Athletic. Richardson, recovering from shoulder surgery that sidelined him for much of the previous season’s second half, is expected to fully recover for the upcoming season.
