BREAKING: New York Rangers Confirms Double Singing Of Defenseman and Forward
New York Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury announced that the club has signed Casey Fitzgerald to a two-year contract and Bo Groulx to a one-year deal.
Fitzgerald spent the 2023-24 season with the Charlotte Checkers, the AHL affiliate of the Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers. He recorded four goals and 17 assists for a total of 21 points in 69 games and appeared in three Calder Cup Playoff games, although he did not score. Fitzgerald joined the Panthers during the 2022-23 season after being claimed off waivers from the Buffalo Sabres in January. He played four regular-season games and two playoff games with Florida, who reached the Stanley Cup Final but lost to the Vegas Golden Knights in six games.

Groulx had a challenging 2023-24 season with the Anaheim Ducks, scoring just two points in 45 games. Previously on a one-year, $775,000 contract, Groulx was originally drafted 54th overall by Anaheim in 2018 and has spent his entire professional career with the franchise. In 65 career NHL games, he has one goal and five points. Known for his solid two-way skating, Groulx has the potential to play a bottom-six role in the NHL. Although he hasn’t yet established himself in the league, a change of scenery might help him secure a spot in the Rangers lineup. Groulx has accumulated 90 points and 104 penalty minutes in 145 career AHL games with the San Diego Gulls.
