Report: Penn State football confirm a huge commitment from their old time legend
The Penn State football program is assembling another strong recruiting class, currently ranked 14th nationally by 247 Sports. Adding to their roster, they are welcoming another Lavar Arrington — literally.
On3 reports that Lavar Arrington II is set to join the Penn State football team, following in his father’s footsteps.
Arrington II, a 6’3″, 205-pound linebacker from Covina, California, is a three-star recruit and ranked as the 70th best linebacker in the country according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
He chose Penn State over other offers from Tennessee and UCLA. Penn State extended a scholarship offer to Arrington II in November, making them the 10th school to do so. After nearly 10 campus visits, Arrington II made his well-considered decision to attend Penn State.
In an interview with VolQuest, Arrington II mentioned his father’s influence on his decision-making process: “Having him helps me with making a decision. He not only went through what I went through but he is smart and has a football mind too, so it is not like he is pressuring me to go to Penn State or anything like that. This is strictly my decision.”
Lavar Arrington, a legendary player for the Nittany Lions, was a two-time First Team All-American with impressive stats: 173 tackles, 39 tackles for loss, 19 sacks, and three interceptions in 1999. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2022.
The Washington team selected him with the second overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft.
Penn State’s Beaver Stadium ranked outside top five toughest places to play in EA Sports College Football 25
College football fans are eagerly awaiting the return of a beloved video game series. EA Sports College Football 25 marks the comeback of college football video games after nearly a decade of absence.
One feature that has fans particularly excited is the introduction of a realistic home-field advantage for certain schools. In anticipation of the game’s release in a few weeks, EA’s development team has released a ranking of the top 25 toughest places to play.
Penn State’s Beaver Stadium was naturally included in this list, though it was placed outside the top five, ranking sixth.
The stadiums that ranked higher than Beaver Stadium are:
– Kyle Field – Texas A&M
– Bryant-Denny Stadium – Alabama
– Tiger Stadium – LSU
– Ohio Stadium – Ohio State
– Sanford Stadium – Georgia
These are some of the top programs in college football, so Penn State’s ranking just behind them isn’t a major slight. Nonetheless, some fans believe Beaver Stadium should be considered one of the very toughest venues in the country.
EA explained that their rankings were based on several criteria, including:
– Historical stats
– Home winning percentage
– Home game attendance
– Active home game winning streaks
– Team prestige
Overall, Penn State fans should be pleased with Beaver Stadium’s top 10 ranking.
