Husker football has landed another commitment from one of its June official visitors. Nebraska football added another commitment from its run of June official visits, as 2025 Ridge Point (Texas) defensive back Bryson Webber announced his decision to commit to the Huskers.

The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Webber chose the Huskers over TCU and Utah, providing Matt Rhule’s program with a rangy defensive back who has verified 10.5-second speed in the 100 meters.

Nebraska was among the first to offer Webber, just as he was transitioning from wide receiver to cornerback. The position move has paid off, and the Huskers were leading the charge in believing it would.

“Receiver, you get the ball every time, but anytime on defense you can make a play every drive,” he told Husker247 about being a DB. “It’s just real cool to be able to do that and knowing that you can just impact a game by yourself alone.”

The confidence the Huskers had in him early on never lost meaning to Webber. Former Nebraska secondary coach Evan Cooper was one of the first to express his belief in Webber as a defensive back. Webber then formed connections with the program in more ways, which obviously mattered a lot with John Butler now leading the secondary.

Most of the defensive staff visited him at his high school in person this spring, and he was struck by the “true brotherhood” he felt among players during his official visit to Lincoln the third weekend of June. That visit weekend has proven productive for Nebraska, with other commitments from visitors such as Jeremiah Jones and Houston Kaahaaina-Torres, and linebacker Will Hawthorne still in play for the Big Red.

“I know for a while he had no transfers out of Nebraska, so just seeing how much the players even value being there,” Webber told Husker247 about Rhule’s program. “Because you don’t get just playing football, you’re getting an education, and obviously the fan base is amazing. So there’s a lot of benefits that come with being a Husker.”

Before making his announcement, Webber told Husker247 that he got a chance to talk with new Husker secondary coach Butler on Thursday. On his official visit, Webber said the Huskers raised the possibility of him moving to safety in college, depending on how he grows when he arrives in Lincoln. This will be settled in time, although he wants to be there sooner than later.

A three-star prospect with an overall rating of 87 according to 247Sports, Webber plans to enroll in January. He has also spoken about how Nebraska runs a lot of defensive concepts familiar to him and uses the rover position in an appealing way.

“So I know the defense going into it would be really similar,” he said. “So I know it won’t take long to adjust to.”
