LATEST REPORT: LSU safety withdrawn from Tigers’ roster due to……..
LSU backup safety is no longer with the team after a career plagued by injuries. Langlois, a redshirt junior from New Roads, appeared in only one game over the past two seasons. He suffered a season-ending injury early in 2022 and missed the entire 2023 season, and he did not practice this spring.
In high school at Catholic-Pointe Coupee, Langlois excelled in both football and track, earning a three-star recruit ranking and being listed as the No. 15 player in the state for the 2021 class by 247Sports composite. As a true freshman at LSU, Langlois played in nine games, primarily on special teams. He then appeared in LSU’s home opener against Southern the following year but was injured in the first half.
Despite Langlois’ departure, LSU enters preseason camp next month with nine scholarship safeties. Redshirt junior Sage Ryan and Texas A&M redshirt junior transfer Jardin Gilbert started during spring practice. Major Burns, a returning starter in the secondary, has moved to the STAR position under new defensive coordinator Blake Baker’s scheme.
