DONE: Another 5-star depart from LSU and commitment to Miami football
The Miami football program is anticipating commitment announcements from other cornerbacks following D.J. Pickett’s decision to commit to LSU on Thursday. Miami’s coaching staff remains focused on recruiting Pickett, hoping for a potential change of heart, while also concentrating on three other cornerbacks high on their priority list.
In June, four-star cornerbacks Jaboree Antoine and Ben Hanks, along with three-star Aidan Anding, visited Miami officially. Antoine is set to announce his commitment on Saturday at noon, while Anding and Hanks have yet to finalize their announcement dates. Miami has already secured commitments from cornerbacks Chris Ewald and Timothy Merritt.
LSU appears to be the front-runner for Antoine’s commitment, with predictions favoring them shortly after his de-commitment from the Tigers. According to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, LSU holds a 51.4 percent likelihood of landing Antoine, with Miami close behind at 44.9 percent.
Hanks, a legacy at Florida, currently lacks any crystal ball predictions. On3’s RPM gives Florida a 47.3 percent chance of securing his commitment, with Miami trailing at 24.9 percent. Other programs have less than a 10 percent chance, according to On3.
Canes still in pretty good shape at CB for 2025, with Ewald and Merritt commited. Four-star Louisiana based CB Jaboree Antoine will announce Saturday, with UM, FSU, LSU in mix. (And this UM staff is very good at flipping players close to Signing Day.) https://t.co/6vidtY79NX

A competitive recruitment is unfolding for Aidan Anding, with LSU and Texas emerging as leading contenders. Crystal ball predictions slightly favor Texas with one, compared to three for LSU. Recent forecasts strongly lean towards LSU, indicating their growing momentum. According to On3’s RPM, Texas holds a 57.4 percent chance of securing Anding’s commitment, while LSU follows closely behind at 38.8 percent. Other programs are listed with minimal probabilities below 2.5 percent.
Miami’s cornerback coach, Chevis Jackson, joined in February after Jahmile Addae departed for the Buffalo Bills. Jackson is actively building relationships crucial to recruiting, starting his tenure at Miami. Looking ahead, Miami may explore adding another cornerback for 2025 or consider a transfer following the 2024 season to bolster their roster.
