For the second time this week, LSU and Miami’s football programs are finalists for a highly sought-after cornerback. Four-star CB Jaboree Antoine informed Chad Simmons of On3 that he has narrowed his choices to LSU and Miami, with his decision set to be announced on Saturday.

LSU triumphed over Miami and Oregon to secure five-star CB D.J. Pickett on Wednesday. Antoine’s announcement is scheduled for Saturday at 5 PM Eastern Time. On Friday, Keegan Pope, On3 National Recruiting Writer and Assistant Managing Editor, reported that Miami is currently favored to land Antoine.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Miami holds a 63.9 percent chance of securing Antoine’s commitment, while LSU stands at 33.4 percent. Notably, the only 247Sports crystal ball prediction for Antoine, made the day after he de-committed from LSU, favors the Tigers. Canes Insight noted that “the Canes continue to feel confident” about their chances with Antoine.

Leading up to Pickett’s commitment on Wednesday, consensus projections had him choosing Oregon, with Miami as the secondary option. Pickett’s decision to commit to LSU surprised most analysts. Antoine’s decision appears to be a closer contest between LSU and Miami.

Chad Simmons and Florida State recruiting insider Michael Langston have both predicted in the RPM that Antoine will choose Miami ahead of his Saturday commitment announcement, according to Keegan Pope. On3 ranks Antoine as the 87th overall prospect, the ninth cornerback, and the second player in Louisiana in their Industry Rankings.

In the 247Sports composite rankings, Antoine is listed as the 71st overall prospect, the eighth cornerback, and the second player in Louisiana. Standing at 6’1″ and weighing 170 pounds, Antoine has the size that Miami’s coaching staff values. Miami already has commitments from four-star prospect Chris Ewald and three-star Timothy Merritt at cornerback.

Currently, Miami holds the ninth-ranked recruiting class in the 247Sports rankings and the 11th spot in the On3 rankings. If Antoine commits, Miami would rise to eighth, surpassing Oklahoma in the 247Sports composite rankings. Antoine would become Miami’s second-highest-ranked commit for 2025, trailing only safety Hylton Stubbs.
