Breaking: Red Sox Receives Devastating News On RHP Cooper Criswell

The Boston Red Sox placed right-hander Cooper Criswell on the COVID-19-related, 10-day injured list on Friday. Criswell, 28, last pitched on Monday, delivering two-thirds of an inning in relief during Boston’s 9-5 victory over the Kansas City Royals. He allowed two runs on three hits. The move is retroactive to Thursday. This season, Criswell has a 4-4 record with a 4.02 ERA, 17 walks, and 56 strikeouts over 71 2/3 innings across 18 games, 13 of which were starts. Over his career, Criswell holds a 5-6 record with a 4.69 ERA, 29 walks, and 87 strikeouts in 109 1/3 innings, having played parts of four seasons with the Los Angeles Angels (2021), Tampa Bay Rays (2022-23), and the Red Sox.

In related roster moves on Friday, the Red Sox placed starting pitcher Brayan Bello on the paternity list and recalled left-hander Cam Booser and right-hander Brad Keller from Triple-A Worcester. Bello, 25, is 10-5 this season with a 5.16 ERA, 41 walks, and 109 strikeouts in 111 2/3 innings over 21 starts. Booser, 32, made his major league debut on April 19 and has since posted a 2-2 record with a 2.77 ERA, 10 walks, and 38 strikeouts over 39 innings in 38 relief appearances. Keller, 29, has a 5.40 ERA, five walks, and 11 strikeouts in 16 2/3 innings over nine relief outings for the Red Sox this season.
