Breaking: Oklahoma State’s loaded wide receiver room transfers
STILLWATER, Okla. — A common drill at an Oklahoma State practice involves simulating punt returns. A coach uses the JUGs machine to send balls 40 yards downfield, where a returner tries to catch them and make a move. The setup is designed to mimic game conditions, but without the added pressure of opposing players trying to disrupt the return.
During the Cowboys’ first fall camp practice on Wednesday, five players participated in this drill. Fifth-year senior Brennan Presley, the primary returner, led the group, which also included Oklahoma wide receiver transfer Gavin Freeman, Virginia Tech wide receiver transfer Da’Wain Lofton, wide receiver Kyler Pearson, and freshman safety Talon Kendrick.
This was the first look at the two Power 4 wide receiver transfers who joined the team this summer. They are among six new additions to an already strong and talented receiving corps, which includes four of the top six pass catchers from 2023, including All-Big 12 honorees Rashod Owens and Brennan Presley.
